How To Watch Trump Inauguration: Livestream, Schedule, Networks

The 2025 inauguration of Donald J. Trump will be a three-day extravaganza in Washington, D.C. leading up to the swearing-in ceremony Monday, January 20 of Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance that has been moved inside because of the threat of cold weather.

The official inaugural events begin Saturday with the President’s Reception and Fireworks as well as the Cabinet Reception and Vice President’s Dinner.

On Sunday, an Arlington National Cemetery ceremony will see Trump laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Later, he will deliver remarks at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally at Capital One Arena, which will include performances by Kid Rock, the Village People, Billy Ray Cyrus and Lee Greenwood. Trump will also speak later in the evening at the Candlelight Dinner.

Inauguration Day on Sunday will begin with a St. John’s church service and a tea at the White House before the actual swearing-in ceremony, now set to take place at Capital One Arena around noon ET, It will be followed by formal events including Farewell to the Former President and Vice President, a Signing Ceremony and a Congressional Luncheon.

It is unclear about other previously scheduled outdoor activities including the President’s Review of the Troops and the tradiational presidential parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House ahead of an Oval Office signing ceremony. That evening will be the Commander In Chief Ball, the Liberty Ball and the Starlight Ball; Trump is expected to deliver remarks at each of those final three events.

ABC

‘World News Tonight with David Muir’

ABC News’ coverage Monday starts with a special edition of Good Morning America at 7 a.m. ET, followed by a daylong special report beginning at 9 a.m. led by World News Tonight anchor David Muir from Washington, D.C. Coverage will include Trump’s visit to Capitol Hill, the swearing-in ceremony and inaugural address, the signing ceremony in the Oval Office, the parade and more.

On Monday evening, ABC will present The Second Inauguration of Donald J. Trump – An ABC News Special anchored by Muir at 10 p.m. ET that will provide reporting and analysis on the events leading up to Trump’s historic second presidency. The special will be available the next day on Hulu.

On Sunday, Muir will also anchor a special edition of World News Tonight while co-anchor Byron Pitts will anchor a special edition of Nightline. This Week with George Stephanopoulos will have a special edition previewing Monday’s events.

Streaming channel ABC News Live, ABC News Digital, ABC News Radio and affiliate news service ABC NewsOne will also provide coverage.

CBS News’ coverage Monday begins on streamer CBS News 24/7 at 6 a.m. ET anchored by Errol Barnett and on the CBS network at 7 a.m. with a special edition of CBS Mornings live from Washington, D.C. Beginning at 9 a.m., Norah O’Donnell, in her last major event as CBS Evening News anchor, will lead the coverage at least until 5 p.m., joined by reporters and special guests and contributors including Douglas Brinkley, Joel Payne, Leslie Sanchez and Terry Sullivan. Major Garrett and Lindsey Reiser will anchor continuing coverage into the evening on CBS News 24/7.

CBS’ day culminates at 10 p.m. ET with Inauguration in America – A CBS News Primetime Report, anchored by John Dickerson, Maurice DuBois and Margaret Brennan.

CBS News’ coverage will stream wherever CBS News 24/7 is distributed including the CBS News app, CBSNews.com (which will feature a dedicated CBS News feed with live ASL interpreters), YouTube, Paramount+ and Pluto. CBS Newspath will deliver around-the-clock coverage of the inauguration to stations, affiliates and clients. CBS News Radio will deliver anchored longform coverage of the inauguration ceremony from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

CNN’s special live coverage Monday begins at 7 a.m. ET led by anchors Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper, along with Dana Bash, Kaitlan Collins, John King, Abby Phillip, Jamie Gangel and Audie Cornish. At 2 p.m., Erin Burnett will lead coverage from the parade route, joined by Kasie Hunt. At 4 p.m., Tapper and Bash will anchor coverage from outside the White House, joined by Wolf Blitzer and others.

Starting at 7 p.m., Erin Burnett will look ahead at the new administration’s priorities, while Collins and John Berman will be live at one of the inaugural balls. Cooper joins coverage at 8 p.m., Phillip and Laura Coates anchoring at 10 p.m. from the balls along with Boris Sanchez.

CNN’s coverage Monday will stream live CNN, CNN connected TV and mobile apps, CNN.com and on Max for Max subscribers. 

C-SPAN

C-SPAN is promising “live, raw, feeds capturing every moment of the second presidential inauguration of Donald Trump.” Those feeds will be available throughout Inauguration Day on C-SPAN2.

The network’s traditional Inauguration Day coverage will air on the main C-SPAN channel starting live at 7 a.m. ET Monday and going through the inaugural balls. All events will be shown live, uninterrupted and include expert insights from presidential historians and political analysts, and commentary from viewers calling-in from across the nation.

Coverage will also be available on C-SPAN Radio, C-SPAN.org, the C-SPAN Now mobile app, the C-SPAN Select connected TV appand across all major social media platforms.

On Inauguration Day, Fox News Channel’s live Washington-based programming will kick off with Fox & FriendsAmerica’s Newsroom and The Faulkner Focus followed by Inauguration of Donald Trump, from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET. Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will helm the special coverage.

Beginning at 7 p.m. ET, FNC’s primetime lineup will broadcast live from Washington kicking off with The Ingraham Angle and Jesse Watters Primetime at the Commander in Chief Ball followed by Hannity live from the Liberty Inaugural Ball. Gutfeld! will broadcast live from Washington’s DAR Constitution Hall in front of a studio audience followed by Fox News @ Night with Trace Gallagher.

On Fox network, Shannon Bream and John Roberts will anchor special Inauguration Day coverage from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. ET Fox Business Network’s Larry Kudlow will also broadcast live from Washington beginning at 4 p.m. ET. 

Additionally, Fox News Digital, Fox News Audio, Fox News Radio, Fox News Headlines 24/7 and streaming service Fox Nation will offer special reporting and analysis of the inauguration along with up-to-the-minute updates.

On Monday, MSNBC’s Inauguration Day coverage begins with Way Too Early followed by Morning Joe.
Throughout the day, MSNBC Reports anchors Ana Cabrera, José Díaz-Balart, Andrea Mitchell, Chris Jansing and Katy Tur will report live from Washington, D.C.

At 10 a.m. ET, Rachel Maddow will kick off MSNBC’s live coverage of the inauguration, joined by Nicolle Wallace, Joy Reid, Ari Melber, Chris Hayes, Alex Wagner, Lawrence O’Donnell, Stephanie Ruhle and Jen Psaki. At 2 p.m. ET, Hayes and Wagner will pick up coverage.

Additionally MSNBC.com and the MSNBC mobile app will feature the latest developments as well as analysis from MSNBC anchors. Viewers can also stream MSNBC’s Inauguration Day coverage live on MSNBC’s YouTube channel.

On Saturday, Ali Velshi will host a primetime inauguration preview special at 9 p.m. ET in addition to his regular hours of Velshi on Saturdays and Sundays. The Sunday installment will be a special edition show: Velshi: The Players and The Policies of the Next Four Years.

Also in Sunday, the hosts of The Weekend will deliver a primetime inauguration preview special at 9 p.m. ET.

Today will kick off NBC News’ inauguration coverage on Monday at 7 a.m. ET. Starting at 10 a.m. and throughout the day, Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie will lead special coverage, joined by Kristen Welker, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Tom Llamas, Hallie Jackson and Peter Alexander. Holt will anchor NBC Nightly News live from Washington, D.C. beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

NBC News Now begins streaming live coverage at 7 a.m. ET while NBCNews.com and the NBC News app will feature an up-to-the-minute live blog.

PBS News will provide live coverage co-anchored by Amna Nawaz and Geoff Bennett beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET Monday on PBS stations and streaming on PBS News’ digital and social platforms. It will include reporting from PBS News Hour correspondents and analysis from Cook Political Report editor-in-chief Amy Walter, Washington Post associate editor Jonathan Capehart, New York Times op-ed columnist David Brooks, Republican strategist Kevin Madden and former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley.
