Hutch Parker Entertainment Inks Producing Deal With Sony Pictures

EXCLUSIVE: Veteran film producer and former 20th Century Fox Vice-Chairman Hutch Parker has signed a producing deal with Sony Pictures under his eponymous production banner Hutch Parker Entertainment with President/Partner Dan Wilson.

Tom, Josh, and I are thrilled to continue our association with Hutch and Dan with this new deal.”

The new deal follows the October release of Venom: The Last Dance, which was produced by Hutch Parker Entertainment and minted north of $478 million at the global box office, shooting Sony’s franchise to more than $1.8 billion worldwide.

The deal is also just ahead of the production company’s highly anticipated theatrical release of The Amateur for 20th Century Studios this April, starring Academy Award Winner Rami Malek.

Parker and Wilson have produced and/or executive produced 14 films since founding Hutch Parker Entertainment 14 years ago in 2011, from blockbuster franchises to award-winning fare, garnering an impressive $4.162 billion in global box office. 

Parker also produced Sony’s 2022 feature take of childrens book, Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and 20th Century Fox/Marvel’s Logan which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Parker is also known for the critically acclaimed features Patriots Day starring Mark Walberg, which was honored by the National Board of Review (NBR) as a Top 10 Film of 2016. The Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart starring Logan is notable for being one of the few superhero films ever to be lauded by over 40 film and critics organizations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay (for director/writer James Mangold) and a recognition as an NBR Top 10 Film of 2017.

As President of 20th Century Fox, Parker propelled Marvel’s X-Men franchise during his run, yielding such hits X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). From 1995-2011, he served as an executive at 20th Century Fox, ascending to President and subsequently Vice Chairman of the Film Group, overseeing all the studio’s film operations including the animation division. During his tenure, Fox enjoyed six record-breaking years with worldwide box office successes such as Avatar, the X-Men franchise, Master and Commander, Night at the Museum, and surprise comedy hit Borat, among others. Once he transitioned to working behind the camera, Parker continued as producer on the blockbusters The Wolverine (2013), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse(2016) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019).

Wilson counts over two decades with Parker, traversing the studio ranks at 20th Century Fox and New Regency, then into producing with him at the formation of HPE, and ultimately becoming a partner at the company in 2019. As President/Partner of Hutch Parker Entertainment, he produced the upcoming The Amateur, and served as EP on Patriots Day and Lyle, Lyle Crocodile.
