Keith Le Goy Named Chairman, Sony Pictures Television

Sony Pictures Television has a new Chairman.

The company has named Keith Le Goy, who was Chairman, Worldwide Distribution and Networks, Sony Pictures Entertainment, to the position. It comes after Ravi Ahuja, who was previously Chairman, was promoted to President and CEO of SPE last year following the surprising exit of Tony Vinciquerra.

The move will see Le Goy, who has been with the company for over 25 years in various international TV distribution roles, oversee all domestic and international TV production.

In addition to overseeing sales of Sony shows to global broadcasters and streamers, Le Goy also oversaw Sony’s cable networks in Latin America and Europe. He has been responsible for distribution deals for shows such as Seinfeld and film output deals with Netflix and Disney in the U.S. He also shepherded Sony’s local language productions in Latin America.

Other roles include President of Distribution for Sony Pictures Television, having joined the company in 1999 as Senior Vice President, European Distribution in London, having previously been at Disney.

Katherine Pope, who is President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, will report to Le Goy with the studio noting that she will take on some additional responsibilities.

“Keith has a remarkable track record at SPE, both in distribution and the businesses he has led. He is strategic, growth-oriented, and has a razor-sharp mind,” said Ahuja. “Just as importantly, as a close partner of mine in our TV business, I have seen firsthand that he is a fantastic colleague. I look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”

“It is a privilege to take the helm of the television group at this transformative time in the industry,” added Le Goy. “Thanks to Ravi and our incredible teams, SPT is well positioned to lead and build upon our rich legacy in this evolving and dynamic marketplace, and I am invigorated by the opportunities ahead.”
