Pop superstars in Israel and Argentina are coming together for a global romcom series.
Noa Kirel and Agustín Bernasconi are starring in NOA, a fun, playful series in which, after months of a long-distance relationship, Noa travels to Argentina to meet her boyfriend. She then meets Tomy (Bernasconi), a young man trying to reconcile with his past and forge a new life away from music, all while Noa begins a journey of discovery in search of her musical identity, while dealing with the pressure of her parents and her new reality in Buenos Aires.
The 25-episode series is filming on location in Buenos Aires next month and brings together Dori Media Group founder Yair Dori, who originated the project, Werthein Group’s Dario Werthein, Argentinian indie Fam Contenidos and Israeli Bad Boy studio Sipur. Showrunners are Alejandro Cacetta and Mili Roque Pitt, and director is Mauro Scandolari.
Kirel and Bernasconi are two of the biggest pop stars from their respective nations. Kirel broke out on YouTube, represented Israel at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest and was a judge on Israel’s Got Talent. Bernasconi’s work has generated more than 100 million views on YouTube and throughout his musical career he has collaborated with artists including Emilia, Tini, Lit Killah, Manuel Turizo and Soledad Pastorutti.
Bernasconi said: “It is going to be a great experience to star in the series with Noa. She is an outstanding artist and we complement each other very well.”
Sipur CEO Emilio Schenker said the show “marks the start of our co-financing and co-producing of great IP franchises globally.” “I can think of no better team or first project for us to invest in outside of Israel,” he added. “It fits perfectly with our mandate to bring high-quality fiction, documentary and unscripted projects to the world through top-level strategic partnerships and the support of powerful investors.” Sipiur recently landed an Israeli medical thriller starring Tehran’s Niv Sultan with North Road and sold Bad Boy to Netflix.
Dori added: “I am very proud to be part of this great project, which I believe will be a very solid performer worldwide.”
