Hollywood today has a very serious problem. Namely, they are too focused on re-releasing the same content over and over again. Now, I do not mean that Hollywood as a whole is literally releasing the same movies over and over again. No, instead, I mean that Hollywood is tweaking a formula that they are very comfortable with and releasing a film that has been seen many, many times over. This occurs in all genres of films, but it seems to be an issue in superhero films. This plague of unoriginality seems to be running through Hollywood at an increasing rate as more and more films just look like copies of other previously released films.

To demonstrate this phenomenon, I am going in-depth on another genre that seems to be having this unoriginality problem today. The genre I am talking about is the romantic comedy genre. Everyone knows how these films go. The guy gets the girl, loses the girl, and then at the end gets the girl again. It seems that for over ninety percent of romantic comedy films, this is how the plot goes. Nearly every film released in this genre is, story-wise at least, a copy of another copy. This is obviously a very bad thing. Films should be about creativity and originality, not about using the same plot over and over again for convenience’s sake.
Another genre of film that continuously falls into the trap of unoriginality in Hollywood is, as mentioned previously, the superhero genre of films. These films seem to follow the same overall flow and structure. The story goes as such: the heroes win, the heroes lose, and then the heroes win again at the end. Most of the films within the superhero genre follow this pattern. You may even notice that this pattern is very similar to the romantic comedy pattern I mentioned earlier. As a result, it can be discerned that most films in Hollywood today follow a similar formula. That is, the main characters win, then they lose, and then at the end they win again.
This is a major problem for Hollywood. People do not want to see films that they have already seen before. But with this pattern structure in place, this is what is happening to people: they are quite literally watching the same movie over and over again. Luckily for Hollywood, though, there is an easy fix to this problem.

A Solution To Hollywood’s Huge Problem
The solution to this problem is quite simple. All Hollywood has to do is hire and work with writers who care about originality in the stories they tell. By working with writers who care about originality in their works, Hollywood will fix the unoriginality problem that they have. This is because this problem stems from the writing. Films today are mostly written in a way that is similar to something else that has already been released. In the future, Hollywood needs to focus on story and nothing else. By doing this, Hollywood will no doubt pull more people into theaters and pull more critics into actually enjoying the majority of films that come out of mainstream Hollywood.
This is not a problem that is optional to fix in Hollywood. Hollywood must come to a fix soon in order to save the quality of the movies that they are releasing. By working with talented and passionate writers, Hollywood will no doubt create stories that scream with originality and stories that, for the first time in a long time, really resonate with their audiences as a whole. Again, this problem is not one that can be ignored. It is one that must be dealt with and handled at all costs. Originality is the key to making a story that is actually fun and interesting, and the fact that Hollywood has been lacking this key ingredient to success as of late is extremely frightening. Hollywood needs to fix this problem in order to save itself and the film industry as a whole, because if this problem is not fixed, then Hollywood will slowly succumb to its own unoriginality, and the whole film industry will completely fall as a result. This simply cannot happen. Movies are too important to our society and to our world for this to happen. So, Hollywood needs to put it in gear and fix this problem, which they have been ignoring for generations.

To recap, Hollywood has a major problem with originality. Put frankly, they have a severe lack of it. It seems as if every movie released today is a copy of another movie that has already been released. This is a huge problem for Hollywood and one that can no longer be ignored. Hollywood has to do something to fix this win, lose, win pattern that has been popping up in their films for decades. Fixing this problem will not only increase the quality of the movies being released today by Hollywood, but it will also serve to better audiences who will finally be able to witness films from Hollywood that do not follow the same structure as nearly every other release out there today.
Hollywood can fix that problem in a number of ways, but the easiest and most convenient solution would no doubt be to hire and work with writers who are good at crafting original stories. Doing this will guarantee that films in the future have an original plot and will work to better the film industry as a whole. The film industry needs help altogether, and Hollywood can provide that help by doing as I just mentioned and working with writers who care about the stories that they create. Doing this will change the film industry for the better and finally give audiences what they are looking for, which is, namely, a story that they get behind and experience truly for the first time. This is something which is not optional for Hollywood and something which must be done soon, or who knows what will happen to our beloved Hollywood.

An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, “We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.
I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.”
