Wife & Dog Movie Adds Cosmo Jarvis, James Norton, Paddy Considine & Pip Torrens

Wife & Dog, the next film from Guy Ritchie (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare), has added four to round out its principal cast: Cosmo Jarvis (Shogun), James Norton (Bob Marley: One Love), Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) and Pip Torrens (The Crown).

Details as to the film’s plot remain under wraps, though the project is described as a “return to the colourful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy” explored by Ritchie in his film and TV series, The Gentlemen. As previously announced, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike and Anthony Hopkins lead the ensemble. Production kicked off in the UK today.

Script is by Ritchie, who is also producing alongside long-time producing partner, Ivan Atkinson (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man), and Black Bear’s John Friedberg (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Ferrari). Exec producers include Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler for Black Bear, as well as Louise Killin. Black Bear launched sales on the title in Cannes last year — the project, marking their third with Ritchie and Atkinson following The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and In the Grey.

Pic is part of Black Bear’s EFM slate, which also includes the Leslie Mann-Isla Fisher comedy Spa Weekend, from the filmmakers behind Bad Moms; the heist thriller Tuner, starring Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman; the Joseph Gordon-Levitt genre pic Pendulum from Black Swan scribe Mark Heyman; David Michôd’s untitled Christy Martin film starring Sydney Sweeney as the champion boxer; and Gregg Araki’s thriller, I Want Your Sex, starring Olivia Wilde.

Recently seen starring as John Blackthorne in FX’s Emmy and Golden Globe-winning phenomenon, Shogun, Jarvis will next be seen starring opposite dual Robert De Niros in Barry Levinson’s WB gangster pic The Alto Knights, which releases March 21, as well as the prison thriller Inside opposite Guy Pearce. He is represented by UTA, The Artists Partnership, and Telescope Agency.

For BAFTA nominee Norton, recent projects include Netflix’s Joy and Paramount’s hit Bob Marley: One Love. Most recently joining House of the Dragon Season 3 in the role of Ormund Hightower, he is repped by WME and The Artists Partnership.

Currently playing King Viserys Targaryen on HBO’s House of the Dragon, Considine will be seen coming up in the films Heads of State and Deep Cover, as well as Ritchie’s Paramount+ with Showtime crime series The Donovans and the show Small Town, Big Story. He is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group.

Recently seen in Netflix’s Joy, as well as series like Renegade Nell and Succession, Torrens’ upcoming slate includes Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s untitled Tom Cruise pic for Warner Bros, as well as the films Savage House and Vindicta. He is repped by Independent Talent Group.
